Add templates to your spreadsheet and search the Template Library

Google Sheets users can now add a template straight into the spreadsheet they have open, and the Template Library in both add-ons has search and filters. Adding templates to an existing workbook in Excel on the web now works for templates with charts and comments.

• NEW Add to this spreadsheet in Google Sheets. In the Template Library, click Add to this spreadsheet to add a template's tabs, with their formatting, charts, notes and dropdowns, to the spreadsheet you have open. Tab names you already use get a number, such as WACC (2). See Add a template in Google Sheets.

• NEW Search and filters in the Template Library. Search by name, description, tag or SheetsFinance function, and use Filters to narrow by tag or sort by newest or most downloaded, in both Google Sheets and Excel. See Find a template.

• FIX Adding templates in Excel on the web. Add sheets to this workbook now works for templates with charts and comments: the add-in adds the sheets, then redraws the charts and adds the comments back as notes. See Add a template in Excel.

• FIX Templates with several sheets in Excel. Formulas that link a template's sheets, such as the WACC on the DCF sheet, no longer show #REF! after you add the sheets to an existing workbook.

• CHANGE Templates help. The help centre has a new Templates section under Using the add-on.
