Set brokerage account nicknames

SheetsFinance uses nicknames to identify your connected brokerage accounts in the =SF_BROKERAGE() function. By default, the nickname is the institution name of your brokerage account. You can set custom nicknames in Google Sheets or Excel.

Set a nickname

1. Open the Brokerage Sidebar. In Google Sheets, go to Extensions > SheetsFinance > Brokerage. In Excel, click the main SheetsFinance ribbon button, open the dropdown by clicking the three lines at the top left, and choose Brokerage.

2. Click the pencil icon on the top right of the brokerage account card you want to rename.

3. Enter the nickname and click Save.

Use the nickname in a function

Pass the nickname as the first argument to =SF_BROKERAGE():

=SF_BROKERAGE("my-nickname", "holdings")

You can see each account's nickname in the Brokerage Sidebar in italics under the institution name.
